The CAMTRON DS series was developed for driving dials. It uses a roller gear cam mechanism (consisting of a roller gear and globoidal cam) for a smooth supply of power without backlash. The tapered ribs of the globoidal cam and roller gears remain under constant preload to provide the same essential characteristics that ball screws provide machine tools with. This preload guarantees the dial stays fixed, making the CAMTRON DS ideal for machining applications.
