Sankyo's DSA RollerDEX unit is the industries fastest. It can index 90 degrees in 0.4 seconds with maximum output loading. Indexing and repetitive accuracies are held in both directions due to zero backlash between preloaded cam followers and multiple cam ribs. Enhanced life and rigidity is inherent with this design without clamping. A high torque servo drive enables short settling times with the efficiency of low inertia internal components. A large mounting flange and hollow bore offers versatile chuck or fixture mounting. Positioning options are endless with the addition of a second axis with our dual rotary DTS series. These units are perfect for machining compound contours or when fast positioning is required.

While the linear system uses ball screws, Sankyo uses a roller gear for rotary systems to successfully get performance equivalent to a linear system. As with ball screws, the roller gear cam mechanism, consisting of this roller gear and a globoidal cam, can provide a preload design without backlash. The rolling contact surfaces make it highly rigid and efficient. Of course, no clamping device is necessary.
