Overview
As the problems with the global
environment become more obvious, it is a natural and
required function of companies to conserve resources
with increased efficiency in accordance with the guidelines
of international standards such as ISO14000.
The machine tool industry had begun efforts some time
ago to conserve energy, save power and reduce resource
consumption when manufacturing. In keeping with these
activities, the clean, motion conversion efficiency
of cam mechanisms are drawing attentions as both old
and new technology that meets the new conditions being
imposed on machine tools. Today, as earth-friendly manufacturing
becomes a requirement, Sankyo has developed and is marketing
ecology conscious machine tool units (ECO.CAM products)
that make active use of cam technology to generate appropriate
motions, perfect motions and reliable motions from the
standpoint of environment-friendly manufacturing.
