Sankyo's flexible cam technology addresses the needs of many indexing applications where typical cam-indexing devices won’t fully solve
the problem. The AR/ServoDEX series indexer uses the same mechanism as our cam driven indexers except the cam is constant velocity. Our design combines proven mechanical roller gear technology with the flexibility of a programmable servo motor for positioning. When compared to a direct drive motor or a servo driven reducer, the AR/ServoDEX series excels regarding output torque and repetitive positioning accuracy.

Rigidity and accuracy is superior to conventional servo driven reducer combinations due to the repetitive no-backlash nature of the roller gear cam mechanism. Large internal gear reduction of the roller drive (40~160:1) permits higher output torque than a direct drive system and allows for larger loads to be transferred. We developed a solution that provides performance benefits to a broad range of applications, from simple flexible automated machines to synchronizing with large assembly lines. The AR/ServoDEX is just another reason why Sankyo remains the "Global Standard for Indexing Drives".
