Gearmotor mounting is offered on either side of the index or handler, in 90º increments. Some gearmotors have an offset from the reducer centerline to the motor centerline as shown below. Depending on the reducer type, up to 16 mounting positions are offered to avoid dial or mounting feet interference. Most drive packages normally fit within the indexer height. An output torque limiting clutch can provide spacing to avoid interference as shown below. Our standard units include 3-phase AC induction motors with dual 230 or 460 voltages. Brake motors and washdown types are available.
We recommend using variable frequency drive (VFD) controllers to utilize electronic DC injection braking & vary the speed to stop consistently. Most drives are CE/UL approved, reversible and brushless to provide many years of maintenance free service. Our sales group can help you select the best mounting for your application.
